NORTHWESTERN MA
For a wind turbine project located in northwestern Massachusetts, all routes leading to the project site were on narrow, secondary roads that consisted of old, diminishing infrastructure. The team carried out very detailed and careful pre-planning meetings and assessments with all vested parties (MASS DOT, state police, counties, townships, and local towns) to create a solution that would work for all parties to ensure an efficient and on-time delivery of components to the project site. This project was delivered on time with zero delays in the customer’s schedule. With 152 oversized, overweight truckloads this was the largest wind project in Massachusetts and the largest heavy-haul movement in Massachusetts. As a result of this project the MASS DOT and Mass. State Police are utilizing these best practices as a baseline for future projects.
