It’s been two years since President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. According to Climate Power, companies have announced or advanced 646 new clean energy projects, creating 334,565 new jobs and driving $372 billion in new investments across 47 states and Puerto Rico.
As you can see from the numbers above, companies across the country strongly believe in making steps forward to build a clean energy future. Since August 2022, more than 330,000 jobs included those for electricians, mechanics, construction workers, technicians, support staff and others.
The clean energy projects by industry include:
- Batteries
- Clean Technology
- Electric Vehicles
- Grid & Transmission
- Hydrogen
- Solar
- Wind
The states with the majority of new jobs include:
- Georgia
- South Carolina
- New York
- Texas
The Executive Director of Climate Power, Lori Lodes said, “In just two years since its passage, the clean energy plan has created over 330,000 good-paying jobs in communities across the country – and Donald Trump is willing to risk every single last one to benefit his Big Oil donors. Vice President Harris cast the deciding vote to triple clean energy production – lowering energy costs and protecting our air and water. The choice between Harris and Trump couldn’t be more clear – major investments in American energy, lower energy bills, and revitalized communities; or Big Oil’s unchecked agenda to profiteer and pollute.”
We will just have to wait and see what happens come November.
