Our engineering team recently traveled to the Northeast to perform a Site Civil Audit on a newly built project. This audit inspected all the site Civil Improvements to ensure they were meeting or exceeding the customer’s specifications. The team utilized a Nuclear Density Gauge Test to determine the compaction of the soil. This is done by obtaining the percent moisture in the as built and comparing it to the aggregate’s maximum dry density and optimum moisture content to see what percentage is needed with the imported aggregate to meet compaction specifications. This tool measures the density of the material by counting the number of photons emitted by the radioactive signal sent into the group by the device.
This is another tool in our ever evolving tool box we have created here at Logisticus Group.
